Recurrent Syncope Attributed to Left Main Coronary Artery Severe Stenosis
Patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) rarely manifest as recurrent syncope due to malignant ventricular arrhythmia. We report a case of a 56-year-old Chinese male with complaints of paroxysmal chest burning sensation and distress for 2 weeks as well as loss of consciousness for 3 days. The electrocardiogram (ECG) revealed paroxysmal multimorphologic ventricular tachycardia during attack a...
متن کاملClinical Conundrum of Coronary Artery Disease and Aortic Valve Stenosis
C oronary artery disease (CAD) and severe aortic valve stenosis frequently coexist. CAD is prevalent in >60% of patients undergoing surgical aortic valve replacement (SAVR) and up to 65% of patients undergoing transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR). This strong association is thought to be due to the common pathophysiology involving lowdensity lipoprotein–mediated inflammatory response r...
متن کاملClinical Perspectives Coronary stenosis vasoconstriction: impact on myocardial ischaemia
Coronary vasomotor tone has been recognized to play a crucial role in determinating the ischaemic threshold and the occurrence of spontaneous as well as exercise-induced myocardial ischaemia. The traditional concept of the 'rigid tube' has been changed during the past 15 years and the coronary arteries are considered today to represent a 'dynamic tube'. Changes in coronary artery dimensions are...

متن کاملClinical experience with left main coronary artery stenosis.
We report the clinical features and the results of investigation and surgery in 20 patients with significant left main coronary artery stenosis. All had moderate to severe angina; 8 had pain at rest. Three had dyspnoea as a major symptom. The electrocardiogram was abnormal in 17, with evidence of previous myocardial infarction in 10. Of the 11 patients exercised, 8 developed chest pain. Nine pa...
